Shirtless Spaghetti Night

We are basically outside from the minute we get home to bath time, so these days we have a majority of our dinners somewhere outside!  Even spaghetti.  And the last few times we have had spaghetti, we have started a new thing - shirtless spaghetti night.  The boys just can't seem to ever get all those bites straight into their mouths - or even worse, we may make it through dinner, then they wipe their hands on their shirts.  The day we were eating spaghetti in the garage, I didn't tell them to take their shirts off since they were black and we were outside, but half way through one of them was like, "mom, we forgot to take our shirts off."  And off the shirts went!

Carter is really into his garlic bread.  One day we didn't have any, so I quick added some olive oil and garlic bread sprinkles (part of my exceptionally large spice collection) to a brat bun and tossed it in the oven for a few minutes and the "Carter Special" was born.  So now we have to have the Carter Special quite often.

OH BABY! We are getting close. Almost 35 weeks!

33 weeks with Carter

33 weeks with Dylan

33 weeks with the boys (I know the tucked in t is one hot look!)  I was on bedrest, so I am pretty certain I didn't care!

34ish weeks.  I want to say I was bigger with the boys, but I think I am keeping a pretty close pace.  Looks like I have been carrying about the same.  I do think I was much more miserable at this stage with the boys.

We don't have long to wait unit this baby is here!!!  Hard to believe.  Now people often tell me, I bet you are doing anything to get that baby out!  And the answer is NO!  I am waiting out my time.  I'm not ready yet.  I'm not super uncomfortable- getting there, but as long as I don't have to bend over much, I'm doing good.  Still have to finish that patio.  And I'm trying to soak up as much time as I can with the boys before life changes drastically for all of us.  And, this is my last pregnancy, so I am trying to enjoy it as much as I can, even if I do have to walk weird.

We had an ultrasound at my appointment last week, I will try and post a couple pics.  The baby had some massive cheeks, guess he/she may be taking after me.  The babies estimated weight was 5.5 lbs!  I was shocked to hear that, Dylan was 5 lbs, 7 oz.  I guess that was the 44 percentile, so right in the mix. My doctor thought that by my date we would still be in the 7 lb range.  I may have had enough monkey bread this past weekend to surpass that estimate.

Otherwise the baby enjoys rolling around and is keeping quite busy in my tummy.

You don't mop your driveway?

Looks like it could use a cleaning!

They take car washing pretty serious -
Well, until one tries to climb onto the hood of the car!  Then it's time to close the car wash.

Dad's Helpers

They seem so old when I look at this picture!  We'll just be happy they are helping dad with his truck instead of dad helping them with their truck.  Sometimes three can be a challenge, but sometimes I want keep them three forever so I'll always have my little boys.

Preschool graduation

Last week Keith called me after he picked up the boys and said - uh- we are supposed to have the boys back at school to sing at the pre-school graduation!  I guess a note had been sent home at some point.  Regardless we made it back!  Afterwards there was a table of treats.  Funny thing was - there was about 20 plates of different types of brownies and cookies - I had Dylan, Keith had Carter and they independently picked the same brownies!  I had one too:)

We love the water!!!

All the things one would witness if they were to see what happens in the front yard.

These two are all boy!!!  Never a surprise to see them running down the sidewalk with no shoes on, a wrestling match, running around shirtless or in nothing but underwear or even nothing.  Water is a weekly activity, they could be cleaning their jeep, their bikes, the driveway, my car, the door, their toys - you name it!  They often ride bikes and scooters.  Chasing Stella!  At any given moment, one may drop their pants and go pee - we try hard to keep that out of the front yard, but they have their favorite spots.  We eat many dinners on the sidewalk.  The hose comes out often! We have lots of fun snacks and Popsicles.
The bubble machine is often going and there is always a mess of bubbles in the driveway along with lots of fun chalk drawings.  Mostly cool boats and random things they make us draw!  Sometimes they get excited about the bugs they find.  Sometimes they agree with me they are GROSS and ICKY, other times they tell me they like snakes and frogs:)  Sometimes we hang out on dad's tailgate. We like to check on the flowers and the trees, look at the airplanes and enjoy the sunset.  We spend a lot of time in the sandbox.  We spend way too much time looking for Stella because she runs away when we don't have her on the leash - which seems to be a nightly occurrence.  We run lots of races around the yard.

Summer is near and no matter what we are doing outside, we are getting super dirty, but having a fun time and are always late for bed!!!

Loving this

On Mother's Day I noticed a huge flower basket sitting on my front porch.  My parent's got me this gorgeous rose bush!  I was excited it was a plant too since we are just scratching the surface on on landscaping for this place.  We planted it last week and have so many blooms already, I think they are so pretty!  The boys and I check them out every day.  Hopefully it keeps on blooming like this!

Making Progress

I would say the hardest part of the patio project is complete!  Digging in the backyard has been giving Keith flashbacks to installing the irrigation system last summer - which will always be known as the worst DIY project ever taken on by the Bormann's.  Mostly because - this might look like dirt, but REALLY, it's much more like CEMENT.

You have to dig down about 7", which equals A LOT OF DIRT.   Basically, this would not be complete if it weren't for my sister's fiancé, Mark.  Lucky for us he owns a bobcat / rental business and has all the things you really need for building a patio and is also has some super Bobcat Skillz!  He was so kind to meet Keith at our house one afternoon and Keith said it took him about an hour to dig it out.  Even with the Bobcat I'm sure it would have taken Keith a good day to dig it up.  The second thing - look at all that dirt!  They filled two of those trailers.  I was shocked when I saw it - it doesn't look like you could possibly dig up that much dirt.  The sweet thing about this- it was a hydralic trailer so they didn't even have to scoop the dirt back out.  So it is safe to say that if it weren't for Mark, we would be digging this thing until August!

Keith had to hand-dig this small chunk and it probably took him at least 3 or 4 hours.  Finally he started to water it to soften the dirt.  Then we remembered from putting trees in last summer - to make any progress digging in our yard - you need a pickaxe.  Took three stores, but I found one at Home Depot.  Then progress went much quicker!

So what is next?  This weekend Keith spent time tamping it down and working on leveling it out and making sure it slopes away from our house.  Now we are ready for the rock, which I believe Mark will be helping us out again.  From there we can finish leveling and it will be time to work on the wall / fire pit.  We also need to order the rest of the pavers this week.  Somehow when we squared off the patio we ended up getting an additional pallets worth of pavers larger- oops!  But it is what it is now.  Hopefully I will have more progress to share this week. We are at about 5 weeks until the baby is here!

It's wedding season!!!

Happy to say this is the first of only a few weddings this summer!  For many years it seemed we had about 10 every summer.  I do love weddings, but this lady is getting old and can't always bring her dancing shoes like she used to!  Lucky for the guests, this girl was completely sober and I don't think I touched the microphone once.  But this will probably be my last sober wedding!  I did have 4 shirly temples - don't think I have had that many since Angie Allspach and I hit them hard at Troy Garten's wedding when we were like 10.

We made a quick trip up to St. Paul on Friday afternoon for our friend Julie's wedding. My mom was so kind to watch the boys for us.  I think they had a pretty darn fun afternoon.  They were super busy cleaning their bikes, helping with flowers, watching some movies and going out to dinner.  They wanted to call me on their way home from dinner and I heard an earful - can't tell you what the heck they were saying, but I think they had a good time!

I thought it was time for Keith to get a new wedding shirt / tie since we tend to see the same crew on the wedding circut and we haven't purchased a new tie in a few years.  Turns out we were on trend, basically every guy in our group had a blue shirt and a striped tie!

Autumn & me

Allison & Me -  So excited to see Allison, she lives in Colorado now so it's rare to see her!

Kirsten, Jess & Autumn

And somehow I missed taking a picutre of the beautiful bride!  They are head for St. Lucia - that's where we honeymooned 7 YEARS AGO!!!

Keith and I were super unplanned for this wedding and debated all week about where we should stay.  Since I could drive we thought it would be good to head south and get out of the cities so we would have a shorter drive in the morning.  And Friday came and we still didn't have a room booked:)  Well we ended up staying in a special little place in Faribault for $54.99 and all I can say is we got what we paid for and I am 99.9% sure we won't be back!  But I guess for 6 hours of sleep, it served its purpose.
